The Municipality of Orte Launches the European Project "FUTURE": International Network for Active Citizenship and Inclusion Officially Underway

The Municipality of Orte is proud to announce the successful implementation of the first international event of the FUTURE project ("Fostering Unity Through Uniting, Renewing, and Empowering"), co-funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme of the European Union. This initiative, which officially kicked off in our territory from September 19th to 22nd, 2025, was coordinated by the Associazione Hortae-le Vie in close collaboration with the Municipal Administration and local civic associations. The meeting, centered around the theme "Europe of the Future: Empowering Citizens and Building Together a Sustainable and Inclusive Union", effectively transformed Orte into an open-air laboratory for European democracy. Our community warmly welcomed a total of 154 participants, including an international delegation of citizens, local authorities, youth organizations, civil society representatives, and volunteers from 7 European countries, including Estonia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Spain, Poland, and Hungary. Special attention was dedicated to ensuring the active inclusion of youth and women, reflecting the core European Union values of equality, participation, and diversity. In addition to the structured workshop sessions, the international delegations had the opportunity to discover the rich historical and cultural heritage of Orte through guided tours of the historic center, exhibitions of local traditions, and intercultural exchange evenings. This combination of civic reflection and local heritage exploration laid a solid foundation for long-term transnational friendships and institutional cooperation. By hosting this successful kick-off milestone, the Municipality of Orte not only confirms its role as a key hub for promoting European identity and values but also consolidates a permanent transnational network of towns. This network will continue its collaborative pathway in the coming months, bringing our local territory's voice directly into the heart of European community-building
